In a surprising discovery, the Palm Beach Post first reported that according to state records, Orlando shooter Omar Mateen – who as we reported earlier was licensed as a security guard and also holds a firearms license – was employed by the US subsidiary of G4S plc, a British multinational security services company, whose US-headquarters are located in Jupiter, Fla, and which also happens to be the world’s largest security company by revenue.

Mr Cameron has insisted he will not comment further on the US election despite his earlier intervention while Mr Trump was a rank outsider in the race.

Mr Trump previously said he would be tempted by Brexit if he was a British voter but today went further in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Asked whether he would back Brexit, Mr Trump appeared confused by the term before adding: ‘Oh yeah, I think they should leave.’

The tycoon also announced he would be visiting Britain later this month – the day after the referendum to open his new golf course in Scotland.

ONE OF BIGGEST LIFE REGRETS FOR OLDER AMERICANS IS… NOT TRAVELING ENOUGH!

Thinking back on their lives so far, one in five boomers say that one of their biggest regrets is not traveling enough, according to a survey of 2,000 baby boomers conducted by survey company Censuswide on behalf of British Airways, which has a vested interest in encouraging people to take more trips.

Those 65 and up say the same thing: Research into the lives of 1,200 older people over a 10-year period by Karl Pillemer, a professor of human development at Cornell University, found that elders often regretted not traveling more while they were young. “Based on my studies, I can almost guarantee you one thing: If you don’t do it now, you will wish you had traveled more,” Pillemer writes. “To sum up what I learned in a sentence: When your traveling days are over, you will wish you had taken one more trip.”

Romance in the digital age: One in four young people would happily date a robot

Robotic-hand

It may be the stuff of science fiction films like Ex Machina and Her, but new research has found that one in four young people in the UK would happily date a robot.

The only caveats, according to the survey of 18- to 34-year-olds, is that their android beau must by a “perfect match”, and must look like a real-life human being.

The proportion of young people who are willing to go on a date with a robot is significantly higher than the overall proportion of British adults – only 17% of whom were willing.

“Our bodies, our identities and our senses are enhancing thanks to technology and societal shifts,” said Ghislaine Boddington, co-founder and creative director of East London design unit body>data>space .

“Indeed, intimacy as we know it is expanding its boundaries – enabling us to experience love and affection beyond the physical and into the virtual.”
